Boss as a Markdown

Every piece of work waits on a human reviewer who is in meetings, in another time zone, or already at capacity. The cost is not one big delay. It is a hundred small ones: a document goes up, comes back for the same reason three times, gets re-explained, gets re-queued. The team guesses what the manager wants, and guesses wrong. Managers spend their week correcting predictable mistakes instead of making real decisions.

The cause is simple: the manager's bar lives in one head and comes out one review at a time.

Built on Mimic

Boss as a Markdown is the first use case built on Mimic 2.1, the engine we introduced in Mimic 2.1: portable cognitive twins as a single SKILL.md. Mimic compiles a person's decision-making into a single readable SKILL.md that any model can load: the decisions they make, the positions they hold, and the reasoning they use to reach them.

Boss as a Markdown applies that engine to one narrow, high-value task: how a specific manager reviews work. The result is a markdown skill, the manager's review bar made explicit, that your team attaches to the AI they already use.

The return

The expensive part was never the review itself. It is the wait and the rework around it: a draft sits for two days, comes back for a missing number, gets redone, gets re-queued, and waits again. Every bounce is a context switch on both sides.

The payoff shows up in a few places:

• Most routine work clears in a single pass instead of the two or three rounds it used to take.

• The manager's time returns to the decisions only they can make.

• The bar holds steady when the manager is in a meeting, out of office, or stretched across a larger team.

• New hires reach the standard in weeks instead of quarters, because it is finally something they can read.

How teams received it

We ran Boss as a Markdown with a set of pilot teams and tracked how it landed, separate from the accuracy and time figures above.

It stays the manager's file

The skill is a readable SKILL.md the manager authors and owns. They can open it, see exactly what it claims about how they review, and edit any line they disagree with. It is a behavioral emulation of a review standard, never a stand-in for the person, and it is used in the open: the team knows it is pre-flighting against the manager's bar, because that is the point.

Boss as a Markdown is available directly in the Mimic platform. API access is in testing, for teams that want to build pre-flighting into their own tools and pipelines.
